FAQs
When do you meet?
We meet Sundays in La Vernia at 10:00a, and Wednesdays at 6:30p.
Where are you located?
Our La Vernia campus is located at the corner of Chihuahua and Nicholson at 313 W. Chihuahua. Click here for a campus map.
Where do my children go?
While you are enjoying the service, your children will be well cared for in an exciting, nurturing, fun, safe and clean, age-appropriate environment. Please visit the Registration Desk following worship to register your infants through sixth graders for their respective classes. Parents must personally check in and check out their children. Click here to see the Children's Ministry page for more information.
What can I expect in the service?
If you are visiting for the first time, here are a few things to keep in mind:
First, you will be warmly greeted by those serving in the parking lot and lobby areas. Should you have children, one of our greeters will guide you to the children’s Registration Desk. Please help yourself to the complimentary coffee coffee and doughnuts located in the Eurasia Café!
Upon entering the service, you will experience a concert-style atmosphere as our band of talented musicians and singers lead us in a celebratory and reflective time of worship. And because we value prayer, there will be time dedicated in each service to allow people to come forward and be prayed for, either corporately or individually with one of our trained Altar Workers. At Hope we don’t pass a collection plate, but rather provide an Offering Box located in the Lobby for any tithes and/or offerings. As a visitor please do not feel obligated to give, though you are certainly welcome to do so.
The message presented will offer practical ways to apply the subject matter, supporting Bible references, and visual illustrations – all done with enthusiasm, humor and passion. At the conclusion of the service our ushers will hand out Communication Cards which include thought and action provoking questions from the day’s message as well as the opportunity to sign up for upcoming events, submit prayer requests and request more information.
Finally, we invite all first time visitors to come to the Resource Center immediately after the service to receive a free gift for being our guest. And as we say here at Hope, when you come you are a friend, but when you leave you are a part of the family, so welcome to the family!
How can I learn more about Hope?
Browsing around our website is a good start, and visiting us in person a few times will give you a great idea of who we are at Hope. Additionally, should you be interested in exploring Hope’s vision, philosophy and strategy we invite you to attend Church 101 Membership. This seminar is designed to help you better understand who we are and what we believe, and should you be interested in becoming a Salt Covenant Member, what membership involves. Church 101 seminars are held throughout the year. Click here to view the Calendar for more info.
Who are the Pastors?
Bobby and Lisa Nixon serve as the Lead Pastors, having founded Hope’s first campus in August 2002 in La Vernia, Texas.
